Pitlochry Autumn Breaks: Stay for Less

Autumn in Perthshire

I wonder what’s the most pleasurable thing about the arrival of Autumn? Maybe it’s the first blaze of piercing yellow that sharply cuts through the receding light? Alternatively, it might be the kick of mulchy leaves, crisp and responsive to the moving foot. Above all, the cheery loudness of the bird song and scampering activity of our wild, four legged furry friends as they busy themselves in preparation for Nature’s down-time in the months ahead. Doesn’t this energy echo an enthusiasm in us too? Continue reading . . .

The staff and facilities at Rosemount are second to none, particularly for the price point. The rooms are cosy, clean and well-kept, and the staff are incredibly warm, friendly and will do all they can to make your stay a pleasant one. The breakfast selection was excellent - I was particularly impressed with the vegan offerings as they can often be poor in more rural locations. I highly recommend booking yourself into Rosemount, and I can't wait to stay there again. Huge thanks to Anne and the whole team - you went above and beyond for my group and it made a busy work trip all the easier.

Just lovely. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The room was very nice, with a sitting room separate from the bedroom, which was perfect. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and both were absolutely delicious. The chef, Ron, came out to ask us about our meal, and we had a wonderful chat. Our waitress gave us suggestions for places in the village we could walk to for late night beverages. Everything was delightful, and so much nicer than staying in a big chain hotel.

Summer in Pitlochry

Pitlochry, Scotland is often referred to as “Brigadoon” and, maybe, with good reason: A perfectly charming Victorian town, set on a hillside along a river valley which is adorned with a rich mix of craggy rocks and impressive variety of trees and natural shrubs. The wildlife that this idyll attracts, warbles, chatters, struts, peeps from under the generous blanket of natural cover and generally delights us. The greens and sense of balance tell us that nature can actually get it right all by itself, if left sufficiently to get on with the job.
